Casetify is well known for making durable yet stylish phone cases, but they also have some eco-friendly options. The latest is a line of compostable phone cases made from a 100 percent compostable plant-based material called “Ecotify.” It’s basically a blend of bamboo, biopolymers, and starch.
The regular Compostable line has about 4 feet of fall protection, while the Ultra Compostable line with extra corner bumpers has about 6.6 feet of fall protection. My recommendation is to choose the more durable Ultra Compostable option, even if it costs a little more.
Unfortunately, Casetify’s Compostable product line is only available for iPhones, but they also make other types of sustainable cases for both iPhones and Samsung Galaxy handsets. These are not compostable. Instead, it’s made from 65% recycled materials. Additionally, Casetify offers the option to return your old case and reuse or upcycle it to create a new case, reducing plastic waste.
The best part about Casetify cases is that they are highly customizable. Not only can you choose your favorite bumper color and design (Casetify regularly partners with brands and illustrators to come up with unique styles), you can also actually add engravings. You can also add extra protection with a thicker bumper (Casetify says its “Bounce Case” provides protection from drops of 13 feet).
