Yesterday, Roll for Combat launched Kickstarter to bring Battlezoo Bestiary: Elemental Storm to life for 5E D&D and Pathfinder. The book will feature over 170 award-winning monster designs for your favorite fantasy roleplaying games. The project can be funded in minutes and you can preorder your choice of 250+ page hardcover version or get just the PDF for a $30 donation until October 8th. Delivery is expected next spring.
About the project:
attlezoo Bestiary: Elemental Storm is a 250+ page epic that brings hundreds of new monsters and monster-slaying options to 5E and Pathfinder 2e.
Over 170 innovative, award-winning elemental monsters
With over 170 new elemental monsters, each with 20 unique elemental powers, from classic elements like air, earth, fire, and water to new elements like music, space, and time, the game offers a fresh and exciting experience that will keep players coming back for more. Players will never know what’s coming next.
But what does “award-winning monster” actually mean? This monster, and all of the monsters featured in the Battlezoo Bestiaries, were submitted to an open competition for new and aspiring monster designers.
Submissions were judged in two rounds. First, all submissions went through a public judging process where anyone could rank each monster based on a variety of criteria. After that round was completed, the top monsters were selected, and then industry experts scored the top entries on new criteria to determine Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum winners, as well as one Grand Prize winner who was featured on the cover. Not only did the winners have their monster featured in the book, but they also received a cash prize.
In the book, next to each monster is the name of the winner and their medal rank, meaning every monster in this book is a real award-winning monster!
