After revealing key art earlier this week, today at New York Comic Con, Prime Video announced the official Batfam trailer and premiere date for the all-new animated series from DC and Warner Bros. Animation.

The half-hour action-comedy is a sequel to the hit holiday film, “Merry Little Batman,” and will be available on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world starting November 10th. The series will also be streamed on Amazon Kids+, Amazon’s digital subscription for children.

At the series’ New York Comic-Con panel, executive producer and showrunner Mike Ross was joined by cast members Bobby Moynihan (Man-Bat), London Hughes (Alicia Pennyworth), and Jonas Kibreb (Little Batman/Damien Thomas Wayne) to share exciting news and screen the first episode.

The action-packed trailer gave us a glimpse into the everyday lives of these extraordinary superheroes and all the turmoil they have to overcome as a family. The Batfam proves with laughter, heroism, and just a little bit of drama that saving Gotham City is serious business for this family, but family comes first.

Moderated by Damian Holbrook, several panels will highlight:

It was not originally planned to turn the film “A Merry Little Batman Christmas” into a series. However, after the movie was released, there was a positive response from people who wanted to continue this world.

It’s no surprise that Bobby Moynihan was a great Batman even as a child. His favorite Batman actors are Adam West and Michael Batman. In fact, he and Taran Killam wrote a skit on SNL asking host Michael Keaton to play Batman. It went so well that it became the opening monologue. He joked that they basically voiced Keaton for a week straight.

London Hughes loved Adam West’s Batman as a child, watching reruns on Saturday mornings in the UK. So when the Christopher Nolan movie was released, she wanted to go back to the original. Six years ago, Kibreb’s mother showed him the 1989 Batman movie because she was a Prince fan.

Mike Ross and the creators drew their own life from the show. Ross cited growing a beard and wearing his own “dad sneakers” as potential inspirations for Bruce Wayne’s look in the film.

The show explores new areas and aspects of Batman’s world that have not been explored before. Hughes was praised for playing an original black British character in the animated series. The committee confirmed that Alicia Pennyworth paid homage to the actress who played her, Alicia Silverstone.

Ross’ son and Kibreb seem to be the same age.

Kibrebu took a very unusual path to voice acting. At the age of 8, while playing tennis, he started making videos on social media such as Vine, which led to him being invited to interview professional tennis players. His career began there.

All the actors were recorded individually, which was a new experience for Hughes.

Moynihan auditioned to voice the Joker in A Merry Little Batman. Although he didn’t get the role, he loved the opportunity to audition and cried. Therefore, being able to voice Man-Bat became one of his favorite characters. This character is described as “the weird old man in the house.”

Even though he had never narrated an animation before, Hughes already knew he was perfect for the role. As a comedian, she enjoyed the opportunity to improvise while recording, some of which made it into the show.

According to Ross, the casting of Batman’s own voice was a thorough consideration. It required a stoic yet cheerful person, and that’s what we found in Luke Wilson.

Ibriab, who has a sister 12 years older than her, expressed sympathy for the sibling relationship between Damian and Claire, the Wayne family’s newest wards.

Episodes focus on typical, ordinary family activities that transform into the fantastical. “Expect the unexpected,” Hughes said.

Like many people, Ross believes Batman has the best villain. Fans can expect major villains such as Solomon Grundy, Killer Croc, and the Mad Hatter. Similarly, there are lesser villains like King Tut.

Fan Q&A

Physically comedic actors like Jim Carrey and Eddie Murphy were huge inspirations for Hughes’ approach to voice acting.

After voicing the panda in We Bare Bears, fans asked Moynihan to work with creator Daniel Chong again in the new Pixar film Hoppers. Moynihan is thrilled to be working with Chung again, as We Bare Bears was one of his favorite projects.

Ross feels that the actors enhance the script, especially the comedy.

Moynihan is hoping for a Batfam action figure.

BAT-FAM follows a young Damian Wayne, who has taken on the role of Batman, Alfred, and now “Little Batman,” as he welcomes several new residents to the Wayne mansion. Joining the family at the table is Alicia Pennyworth, Alfred’s free-spirited grandmother. Claire, a recently reformed supervillain. Ra’s al Ghul, Damian’s beloved “Pap-Pap”, is also Batman’s longtime nemesis. And Man-Bat takes up residence in the belfry of Wayne Manor. oh! And let’s not forget our beloved family cat, Selina. This close-knit family of outcasts navigates the joys and setbacks of everyday life while protecting the streets of Gotham City.

The series stars Luke Wilson (voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne), Jonas Kibreb (voice of Damian Wayne), James Cromwell (voice of Alfred Pennyworth), Haley Chu (voice of Claire), London Hughes (voice of Alicia Pennyworth), Michael Benyaar (voice of Ra’s al Ghul), and Bobby Moynihan (voice of Man-Bat). The guest voice actor cast includes Reid Scott, Kevin Michael Richardson, Diedrich Bader, Natasha Leggero, and more. The series was developed by executive producer and showrunner Mike Ross and executive producer Jace Rich. Sam Register will also serve as executive producer.
