It’s that time of the year again for Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ), our goofy speedrun fest for a good cause. The hook of this year’s event is a live backing band playing the Dreamcast classic Crazy Taxi. Funds raised at this year’s showcase will be donated to the nonprofit Cancer Prevention Foundation. AGDQ 2025 will be held in Pittsburgh from January 5th to 12th.
The live instrumental band that plays during Crazy Taxi’s run sounds like a fun centerpiece. You can check out the preview in the video below. The footage showed the same band indulging in a game recorded at the 2024 Summer Games Done Quick (SGDC). The same band can enjoy a game on Saturday, January 11th at 4:48pm ET. Complete live version.
Other highlights on the agenda include running the instant PlayStation classic “Astro Bot” on Sunday, January 5th at 6:30pm ET, and 3DS on January 11th at 8:18am ET Includes speed runs and playthroughs of Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. The Wii port of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be released the same day at 4pm ET. Check out the full schedule for more information.
Last year’s AGDQ (also in Pittsburgh) raised $2.5 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. His best records include the no-hitter in Resident Evil 2 (2019), Super Mario 64, which was completed with an electric drum kit, and Peanut Butter, who lent his legs to defeat the NES classic Gyromite. There was a puppy named. Over its 15 years, Games Done Quick Organization has raised $51.8 million for various charities.
You can stream AGDQ 2025 on Twitch. Or, if you’d like to attend a live performance at the Wyndham Grand in downtown Pittsburgh, you can register now.
