To celebrate this big milestone, this issue will be a massive deluxe issue with special back-up stories from legendary past creators. Avengers #34 also marks a significant turning point in the McKay era for the title, as various overarching plot threads collide in spectacular fashion, including the time-travelling battle between Kang and Myrddin, and the secrets of the Impossible City.
It’s all leading up to this: MYRDDIN’S ENDGAME!As Kang is revealed standing on a cliff in a new universe, this mighty team of Avengers assembles for the final challenge they’ve been prepared for!
“AVENGERS #800 is a milestone for both the title and our story as we reach the grand finale of the story we’ve been telling for the past few years!” McKay explained. “It’s amazing to be a part of such a big commemorative issue and contribute to the history of the Avengers!”
AVENGERS #34 features a stunning wraparound cover by bestselling artist Russell Dauterman that brings together heroes from across Avengers history. This epic filler cover will run for three issues until March’s AVENGERS #36.
Dauterman said of the Wild Connections cover, “I jumped at the chance to draw these covers –– I’m honored to be involved in this Marvel milestone! Editor Will Moss mentioned Jim Lee’s X-Men team lineup as an inspiration –– I ran with that, turning to the great trading cards from 1992 and George Perez’s amazing art. I love George’s work on the Avengers team over the years, and was excited about this opportunity.” Do it yourself. ”
