Marvel Comics marks the upcoming release of Tron: Ares, the next chapter in Disney’s legendary sci-fi saga. Throughout October, Select Marvel Issues will feature heroes such as Spider-Man, Captain America, and Scarlet Witch, reimagined through the neon-stained lenses of the Tron Universe. This is not my first trip to the Marvel grid. In 2010, the set of Tron: Legacy Variant covered excitement in fans, and now the concept is back to a bigger and bolder than ever before. This new collection introduces Marvel icons as if they were programs within the Digital Frontier. It absorbs shining armor, speeds up light…
November is a blockbuster month for Marvel, and the solicitations prove it with over 180 covers spanning universe-shaking events, bold new beginnings, and epic finales. The spotlight burns brightest on X-Men of Apocalypse #1, the launch of Jeph Loeb and Simone Di Meo’s apocalyptic saga (more on that via X-Men Monday), backed by a staggering lineup of variant covers from industry titans like Artgerm, Daniel Warren Johnson, Joe Madureira, Arthur Adams, and more. But that’s only the beginning. From the latest twists in Marvel’s Ultimate Universe to pulse-pounding adventures across Spider-Man, Avengers, and Star Wars, this month’s slate delivers something…
I was always biased towards X-Line teenage-centered books. This was difficult to tackle effectively in the Kracon era. With the launch of NYX, it seemed like they were trying to explore what mutant life would look like in New York since the end of Krakoa. I love this concept and can focus on community, identity and survival in cities where books continue to be both mutant heaven and threat. Unfortunately, with the series ending in issue 10, it feels like this trade paperback collects the final chapters and is trying to tie many threads together too quickly. What remains is…
Superman Unlimited #4 may be a Superman book, but it’s clear that creators Dan Slot and Rafael Alberkhaki want to touch on all the characters associated with Steel’s Man, not to mention the wide range of the DC Universe. A proper case: This issue focuses on Jimmy Olsen and the genius teenager of Gorilla City, seeking to investigate the mystery surrounding Gotham City’s Daily Planet Branch. Trouble raises the head in human form, and Jimmy pulls away from normal. Trigger his special signal clock and call Superman. Thanks to the high levels of Kryptonite around him, he is weaker than…
The classic animated 90s Samurai Pizza Cats is back. This time, we have partnered with Tatsunoko Productions to take on a new intermediate comic adaptation from Mad Cave Studios Imprint Nakama Press. Written by Fred Kennedy, drawn by Lorenzo di Santo and by Charles Prickett, the series begins in spring 2026 with the new adventures of the Cyberferlin Defender in Tokyo. Here’s an overview of Samurai Pizza Cats: 1: Welcome to Little Tokio, pizza lovers! And what a hot situation you walked! The big cheese is re-appointed to his stinky shenanagan! This time he uses a fish stick to settle…
Before Jason Aaron and Mahmoodusler’s Bug Wars return in 2026 with the next major storyline, readers will be able to taste what’s coming in a deadly new one-shot this January. The oversized problem dives deep into the dark corners of the garden, expanding the myth and setting the stage for the brutal second chapter of the Saga. The special highlights the ominous Spider Sect and presents the story of Weista the Wayward Watch in the War of the Exiled Magician. Aaron and Asler are joined by artist Valde Malibas (D.C.’s two-faced, Godzilla vs. Kansas City) to bring this shadowy world…
Two years ago, writer Tom King and artist Daniel Sanpele launched a new volume of Wonder Woman with a storyline introducing major new nemeses for Amazon warriors known as the Sovereign. The creative team will debut next month with Tom King and Daniel Sanpele’s Wonder Woman #25 on September 17, 2025, and will introduce another new enemy to the superhero rogue gallery. Wonder Woman #25 Main Cover by Daniele Sanpele & Tomeumory This is what DC was making fun of: After searching for a few days of mouse-stained worlds, Wonder Woman eventually finds lost Etacandy and the fugitive Amazon Emily.…
The 1982 cult classic science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott, Blade Runner has become part of iconic and beloved pop culture in 40 years since the release of the novel and comics that follow. knife Author: Ed BrubakerArtist: Sean PhillipsColorist: Jacob PhillipsPublisher: Image ComicPublication date: August 2025 After the release of Houses of the Unholy, Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips returned to the crime universe in the form of an Amazon crime TV series. Its adaptation is currently being filmed without a release date, but the pre-production and casting process has created almost a year of silence of radio silence from Brubaker and his newsletter. As the show began to take shape, the image finally revealed that it wasn’t the only thing the show was working on during this long, quiet stretch. The knife…
