Hisense announced its latest L9 Series Laser TV (L9Q) at CES 2025. “TVs” (ultra short throw laser projectors combined with screens) come in one of five screen sizes from 100 to 150 inches. The L9Q is the first in the series to feature automatic screen adjustment to ease the transition when projecting to different sized screens. The L9Q uses Hisense’s proprietary triple laser light engine, which allows the TV to reach 110% of the BT.2020 (also known as Rec. 2020) color space. This bodes well for vibrant, vibrant colors. This model is also brighter than previous models, reaching up to 5,000…
Anthropic has partially resolved a legal disagreement that caused the AI startup to anger the music industry. In October 2023, a group of music publishers, including Universal Music and ABKCO, filed a copyright infringement complaint against Anthropic. The group claimed that the company had trained Claude’s AI model on at least 500 songs to which it had the rights, and that an upgrade would allow Claude to copy some or all of the lyrics to those songs. Beyoncé’s “Halo” and Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger” were among the lyrics that the publisher claimed Anthropic infringed. In court-approved provisions agreed to by…

LG has announced two new projectors for CES 2025 that it calls the successors to last year’s CineBeam Q. When you turn your head, you get a projector that can produce images up to 120 inches in size with FHD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution and 300 ANSI lumens of brightness. Through LG’s webOS, you can stream movies,…

I set my alarm for 6 a.m. three days a week with ambitious hopes of being on time for my 6:30 a.m. yoga class. In the winter, that time is midnight or pitch black, and the only reason I sometimes find myself doing early morning vinyasa is the sunrise alarm clock feature on the Hatch Restore 2. I set a schedule to start filling the room with light that gradually gets brighter. About 20 minutes before the sound of the singing bowl starts. The light helps my brain wake up before I wake up, and the subtle sound of the…

It’s been nearly five years since Apple Arcade launched, and while the service hasn’t fully delivered on Apple’s promise back in 2019, it can still be worth paying for. Of course, that’s provided you’re willing to hunt through the 200-ish games currently available on the service. I’ve been playing Apple Arcade games since it launched and these are just a few of my favorites that have stood the test of time. What is Apple Arcade?Apple originally released Apple Arcade with the promise of high-quality, exclusive games that are playable across basically every device the company makes. That includes the iPhone, iPad,…
When Samsung unveiled the world’s first 27-inch 4K gaming OLED monitor on Thursday, Engadget’s Igor Bonifacic predicted that other vendors would soon follow suit. (Samsung is also the largest supplier of OLED gaming monitor panels, after all.) Sure enough, MSI is showing this off on the same day at CES 2025 with two monitors in the familiar specs of a 27-inch 4K QD-OLED display and a 27-inch I followed the example. It’s a QD-OLED with a super smooth 500Hz refresh rate.First up is the 27-inch 4K QD-OLED. Perfectly marketed as MPG 272URX QD-OLED. (Of course!) MSI differentiates the monitor by…
Samsung has announced that the US launch of its new smartphone and fitness tracker is pending.
