Well, Aqua fans, we’re here again. After several miniseries featuring our favorite human-Atlantean hybrids, Jeremy Adams is here to take the reins of a new ongoing series. I was so excited to see this series announced, but I couldn’t help but wonder if it would sink or swim. Picking up from the events of Absolute Power, the first two pages of Adams’ Aquaman open the door with a mission statement that sets out what the book is about.direct currentAdams takes us closer to reconstructing everything we know and love about Arthur Curry/Aquaman, but this book is unafraid to do something…
We’ve all seen Batman’s awkward first attempt at crime-fighting. We even saw a quote from Scott Snyder in this comic going all the way back to Year Zero. We’ve seen him doubt himself and struggle to find the best way to carry out his mission, both on screen and in a few pages. But we have never seen him like this.Wearing a prototype suit that looks more like a vampire than a vigilante, this is an angry Batman who might love Nosferatu more than Zorro. Still, Bruce decides to think bigger, hang up his fangs, and become more than just…
In Batman & Robin #17, Batman’s past literally comes back to haunt him as he continues his battle with Memento. A serial killer comes to Gotham from London. He seems to have his eye on Batman. Thanks for helping me catch Bruce when he was young and learning the ropes. The problem is that even though Memento appears supernatural and powerful, Batman refuses to believe that he is just a human. Meanwhile, Damien is dealing with a growing fear within himself, unable to show any signs of it to his father for fear of showing weakness.Batman and Robin #17 begins…
“We are the Wounded” Part 2 begins today with a new maxi-series of Batman: Dark Patterns that is sure to grab your attention. Created by Dan Watters and Hayden Sherman, Batman faces a new type of enemy known as the Wounded Man. This villain can endure intense pain as nails, screws, and rebar run through his body, targeting prominent victims. Issue #2 uncovers more mysteries through some great detective work and exploration of areas outside of Gotham City.Batman: Dark Pattern #2 begins with James Gordon and Batman appearing on the roof of the GCPD, the bat symbol glowing brightly. Fairly…
It turns out Roborock isn’t the only company to bring a robot vacuum with a mechanical arm to CES 2025. Rival company Dreame, which unveiled a stair-climbing robot vacuum earlier this week, is also working on a robot vacuum with an arm. An arm for picking up things. The device is still a prototype, according to the company, but the as-yet-unnamed robot vacuum was on full display at Dreame’s CES booth. Considering it’s still a prototype, the actual arm seemed much sturdier than the one on Roborock’s Saros Z70. It was much thicker and had larger “claws” that appeared to be…
We may no longer be in the midst of a tiny house boom, but the idea of efficiently built homes that conserve resources and can be built anywhere is still appealing. Today at CES, we had a chance to tour the 2025 model of California-based Haus.me’s microhaus Pro. It was shiny, stylishly decorated, and honestly, it wasn’t as expensive as I expected. The 120-square-foot unit’s interior is all wood tones, glass, and soft neutral colors. It’s like replacing a shipping container and replacing the hard wire and corrugated steel with rounded corners and floor-to-ceiling windows. Every surface shines and every inch…
Afeela 1 had a great time at CES today. This was the highlight of Monday night’s Sony press conference, but it was about Sony’s other priorities (which, oddly enough, were more about anime, TV, movies, and professional video creation tools than consumer electronics) I needed to stand on the same stage as him. The product is currently in the spotlight at a dedicated event for Sony Honda Mobility, a joint venture between the two Japanese companies behind Afeela. What to expect from Afeela’s CES 2025 press conferenceThanks to Sony’s previous presses, we know more about Afeela 1 than we did 24…
Pebble introduced the Pebble Flow all-electric RV trailer at last year’s CES. At this year’s show, both the design and price of the Pebble Flow were finalized. Pebble announced that the RV trailer will begin production in early 2025, with deliveries expected to begin in the spring of the same year. The final design of the trailer includes several new additions to what Pebble introduced in Las Vegas in 2024. The interior has been revised for improved cabinet access, additional side and rear windows, larger doors, and more storage space. The Pebble Flow has also received some tweaks to the exterior…
To no one’s surprise, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang isn’t too worried about a future filled with robots and super-intelligent AI. In fact, he welcomes it. During a CES Q&A session with media and analysts, Huang was asked whether he thought intelligent robots would ultimately be on the side of humans or against humans. “That’s how we plan to build humans,” he answered confidently.”The idea of superintelligence is not new,” Huang continued. “My company has a lot of people who are superintelligent in their field of work. I’m surrounded by superintelligent people. And I’m more superintelligent than others. I like to…
Long-established solar company Jackery is taking the U.S. roofing market to the next level with the introduction of its XBC curved solar roof shingles. Debuting at CES 2025, Jackery’s curved solar roof tiles are available in terra cotta or obsidian and are designed to match some of the most common home styles in the country. Solar shingles certainly already exist in the United States, but this is the first one with the wavy aesthetic. Looks like HOA presidents everywhere have yet another excuse to block rooftop solar installations. jackeryThe new tiles deliver cell conversion efficiencies of more than 25% and…
