Last year’s resurgence of EC Comics produced more horror and sci-fi stories than usual, and it continues into 2025 with Epitaphs From the Abyss #7. Three horror stories await you in the anthology. It also includes another great opening from Dustin Weaver featuring horror host Grave-Digger. It begins with a full-page splash introduction by Dustin Weaver. This highly dramatic page depicts a gravedigger sitting on a giant pink tentacle that has protruded from a crypt. A freshly created vampire chick stands in front, ready to defeat the victim. This is a great page and Weaver continues to provide these openers. The…

Marvel Snap is back online in the US after being shut down along with TikTok, Second Dinner announced. The game’s developer also said on X that it is working on partnering with new publishers and bringing more services in-house to “ensure that something like this never happens again.” This weekend, Marvel Snap went offline along with other apps developed or partnered with ByteDance, including video editing tool CapCut, social media app Lemon8, and, of course, TikTok. This collectible card game was published by Nuverse, a subsidiary of ByteDance, for Android, iOS, and Windows. After searching, I still haven’t found an app…
It didn’t take long. President Donald Trump signed a series of executive orders shortly after taking office. That included suspending the law banning TikTok in the United States. The executive order means that the Trump administration’s Justice Department will not enforce laws that protect Americans from regulatory applications by foreign adversaries for 75 days, effectively extending the time the company has to reach an agreement. Trump said in a statement that the “unfortunate timing” of the law, which took effect in the final hours of President Joe Biden’s term, prompted him to proactively assess the impact of the law’s prohibitions on…
At a rally after the inauguration, President Trump brought a desk to the podium where he signed a number of executive orders. The night’s first day took aim at 78 of the Biden administration’s orders, including the October 2023 guidelines on AI.”Rescinding this order is the first of many steps the U.S. federal government will take to repair our nation’s institutions and economy,” the text reads. There’s no explanation for any of the choices, just a long list prefaced with: “The following actions are hereby revoked.” Some are related to the response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, while others are…
When President Biden took office in 2021, he issued several executive orders to address climate change. Now the opposite is happening. President Trump is now in power and is signing EOs at a ferocious pace. Many of these actions take the oft-used “head in the sand” approach to climate change policy, seeking to limit or reverse any changes made by the Biden administration. President Trump’s first step was to pull the US out of the Paris Climate Accord…again.President Trump begins a deluge of executive orders by revoking 78 executive orders from the Biden administration, including one on AI guidelines, before…
The makers of the Oscar-nominated film “Brutalist,” currently distributed by A24, used AI to alter actors’ lines and create images used in the film’s epilogue, the film’s editor said. David Janso revealed this in an interview with Red Shark News. This epic drama follows a fictional Hungarian architect, played by Adrien Brody, as he struggles to create art under the capricious system of American capitalism (and the weirdos who run it). . To make Brody and co-star Felicity Jones’ Hungarian pronunciation as accurate as possible, Janso said the production used AI from a company called ReSpeaker to alter the actors’ voices.Although…
In crime fiction, debt and gambling go as closely together as guns and femme fatales. That’s why I became interested in “Loose Ends.” This is a new series from Titan Comics, and the first issue will be released on February 19th. This is the story of an ordinary man who is addicted to gambling but doesn’t have a violent bone in his body. For screenwriter Stephen Hollis, this is a big problem. He has to make a hit for the mob or die. It’s a tough deal that unfolds nicely in the first issue.Loose Ends #1 begins with a frantic…
