In a science fiction world where satire, dark humor and bold ideas intersect, stories from erotic techniques stand out as collections that don’t stand out boundaries. The anthology weaves eight original stories from ten top indie creators, providing a mix of dystopian tech nightmares, bizarre relationship counseling and everything in between. Although it contains NSFW content, Erotech has managed to blend provocative with profound things in ways that make them impossible to overlook. From underground comics to surrealists, this collection explores the troublesome human emotions intertwined with the interaction of technology and desire. It’s not just sex and robots. It’s…
Photo: Kickstarter Stan Lee was a master storyteller and theologian who inspired countless people. Sadly, one of the myths he created was from his last year. His cameo in the MCU created images of Raconteur with his beloved creator, but Stan actually appeared at conventions until his death at the age of 95 in November 2018. Currently, new documentaries are crowdfunded, reportedly showing the sad state of Stan’s last year, but the way it unfolds and the filmmakers behind it have won new controversy. There was no chance, so the next MCU movie Thunderbolts will arrive this May. Needless to say, Marvel Publishing doesn’t give you the opportunity to pass. Danish visual artist John Ken Mortensen has a new book this summer called The Wrestler. This joins an already impressive resume along with books with illustrations such as Nightmare Factory, Flesh Beasts, Night Terror and more. What sets the wrestler apart is that it is Mortensen’s first sequential English graphic novel. As the name suggests, it is about wrestlers, and as Mortensen’s other works suggest, it is creepy and brought to life by his rich black ink style. We are fortunate here at Beat to have an exclusive excerpt from today’s book courtesy of publisher Fantagurafis. You can first see…
When DC Comics tapped author Jeremy Adams to take over the ongoing series The Flash in 2021, I knew right away that he would knock it out of the park for his stellar work and achievements in various DC animation projects over the years. Sure enough, Adams has written some of the best stories for the Scarlet Speedster in recent years, and most importantly, has restored Wally, a fan-favorite Speedster, to his previous glory. His tenure in the Flash title ended in 2023, but his comic career didn’t slow down a bit. He has become a valuable contributor to DC’s…
