Salt-worthy Marvel and X-Men fans are well aware of the original “future past” storyline within the page of the creepy X-Men #141–142, where they saw Kitty Pride travel back in time to prevent the future of dystopia. In the decades since its first release, the storyline has inspired inspirational spinoffs, films, television, and in particular the 2014 X-Men films. Similarly, in Comics Publishing, the storyline has been revisited countless times over decades, including X-Men: Days of Future Past-Domsday Minisies. Today, Marvel announced the One-Shot X-Men by Chris Claremont. Additionally, the one-shot also includes a special Prelude Story: Chris Claremont, a…

Star Trek is generally pretty cool and relevant. (It’s even more true that bad things in our world, emotions are proven.) However, there’s no denying that Star Trek: Lower Deck has brought a new generation to the collective. The franchise’s first comedy (and the first animated series since 1974), the Lower Deck cleverly demonstrates the mind and humanity that immerses this massive universe. In fact, low decks are so successful that they have been spun into the world of comics in the last few months (provided by IDW). The Lower Decks title has already released six issues, with writers Ryan North…
Fiction truly is the world’s single best salve.A few years back, when COVID and Trump-ian ineptitude tag-teamed the whole wide world, it seemed like horror comics were all the rage. And rightfully so: Seeing snarling demons and axe murderers get their comeuppance made the world feel less terrifying.Only things have clearly gotten worse, and it seems like there’s a surge in fantasy comics as of late. Again, it all makes sense: If we can’t actually face the future in any sort of meaningful way, it’s nice to have a respite to the glory days of magic, monsters, and epic heroes.Curt…

It’s modest to say that the future of DC Studios and Warner Bros. is doing a lot to the success of James Gunn’s upcoming Superman films. Things look promising if the strong reaction to the first trailer released last December is any indication. Today, DC announced Superman’s sneak peak, which was screened at Cinemacon this week. Naturally, Crypto, a breakout star based on Gunn’s own dog, continues to steal the show. Most notably, the perennial favorite of the cartoon, a temporary glimpse in the first trailer, is on display further at this Superman Sneak Peak. What’s more, it’s not difficult…
