This week on the AIPT Comics podcast, Vault Comics’ Adrian Wassel and Nathan Gooden will be joining us to talk about a new high octane series created in collaboration with anyone other than Post Malone. On July 9th (FOCUS June 9th), we dig into the origins of the concept (yes, 18-wheelers crash into medieval Europe), how the creative team brought emotional depth to the story filled with demons and chainsaws, and Big Rig blends evil road energy with the vibe of evil dead. Additionally, they talk about Michael Bay’s early involvement, and what’s next in the series if it continues…
I don’t think anyone was surprised when Wolverine won a new monthly series when the Kracon era ended. Unless Logan has a solo adventure at any point, X-Line doesn’t seem to be perfect. The bigger question was whether it was looking ahead or whether it was a classic theme and plot point retread. Like many of the other X-Books that came out of The Ashes Releunch, this story advances to familiar territory. Logan is drawn into another bloody conflict in search of solitude in the wilderness. Saladin Ahmed’s script leaning towards the scheduled Wolverine beat. Captured with a densely packed…

Truth of Truth of Truth #29 by James Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds focuses on President Richard Nixon’s legacy in a conspiracy theory culture, including an 18.5 minute gap in the so-called Nixon tape. The missing recordings have played a myriad of roles in John F. Kennedy-related conspiracy theories that clutter the Infosphere. Gaps are considered abnormal, but they are also considered opportunities. They can offer a conspiratorial optional buffet. And with Nixon, everything is eaten at that buffet. When Nixon took office, he installed multiple recording devices around the White House to keep records and details of his conversations…
Oni Press is releasing a new edition of Small Favors. This is the first time collecting Steamy and Sapphic Story by Colleen Coover (Banana Sunday, Gingerbread Girl) in one softcover volume, and features new materials. The small favor explores the playful erotic romance between the highly excited young woman, Annie, and Nibiru, a pocket-sized manifestation of her conscience. As the universe keeper of Annie’s conscience, it is Nibiru’s job to pull Annie’s heart out of the groove. This is the place, unfortunately, where she is tied up and restrained (pleads) to maintain herself. The encouragement is overdripping, as Annie and…
