While Pridemance may be coming to an end, Maverick has released a new queer, young adult graphic novel that will debut this winter. The beat has all the details. Wrack & Rune, which will be on the shelf in December, was written by Chris Kappel, drawn by Alex Arizmendi, colored by Warnia Sahadewa, and written by Dave Lanphear and Rob Jones. The story centers around a teenager born into a secret magical society where he has to fall in love with a boy from the outside and considers what it means privilege, power and your own growth. 19-year-old Rory Denborough…
Vault Comics has officially released Atanacia, a cold, genre-curved graphic novel from bestselling horror writer Daniel Klaus (Water Shape, Whale Fall) and visionary artist Dani (Arkham City, Coffin Bound). Going into page 256 and arriving this October, Athanasia has been poised for years to become one of the most memorable takes on superhero mythology. Set in Venture City, the story follows Forest Molson, who tries to remain calm while working as an assistant ground keeper at Atanasia Cemetery, the city’s final resting place for fallen superheroes. However, it reignites in a terrifying new way when she reveals her horrifying secret:…
Every week there’s a real horny that hits the stands of new comics. Readers often know exactly what they are most interested in (they have their pull lists sitting in the reliable hands of comic shops), but they are sometimes told about opposing that old trim and judging the book by its cover. Some truly amazing cover art hits every week. These were the ones that caught Colin’s eye for the week of June 25th, 2025. Archie’s Pal Jughead #78 (Facsimile Edition) Covers by Samm Schwartz and Bill Gavlan This 1961 Jughead’s fantastic, old fashioned cover – pure silver age…
And to think, some of you were concerned we wouldn’t make it past the “Fall of X.” Fortunately, if there’s one thing the X-Men have taught me, it’s how to survive the experience. But X-Men Monday #300 isn’t about surviving — it’s about engaging, informing — and most of all — entertaining! It needs to stand alongside its fellow mutant milestones, X-Men Monday #100 and X-Men Monday #200. Luckily, Marvel’s publishing calendar was on my side as I was planning this anniversary edition. We’re coming up on one year since Tom Brevoort took control of the X-Office and relaunched the X-line.…

2025 marks the 50th anniversary of Richard’s creation and publication of Captain Kanak. Since then, Captain Kanak has evolved into one of Canada’s most iconic heroic figures. The captain received a Canadian postage stamp issued in 1995, and Royal Canadian Mint released Captain Canuck $20 Silver Coin in 2018. Over 4,000,000 Captain Kanak Comics books have been published, but the publication of the series has frequently been different over the years. The recent threat of annexation and tariffs imposed by the US President have brought the spotlight to Captain Canuck as a symbol of Canada’s resilience and independence. Captain Kanak…

Cosby previously worked as an editor alongside Declan Charvey and Ed Brisson, fleshing out the universe of the dynamite Thundercats and Silverhawks. “The story takes place in the past, present and future, introducing new characters and setting a table for the stories of many upcoming people,” author Nate Cosby said. “Worldbreakers are especially personal and exciting because I only script them when I…
Renegade Arts Entertainment has presented its third and final work at Bill Slavin’s multiple award-winning Mordecai Crow Trilogy, Blood and Fire. We reclaim time to see the devastated world of crows through the eyes of our mother Raven. Why did the mad bandit chief Zeya deliver a crow in the hands of Luddites? Will Stalwart…
