Following last year’s summer adventure, DC again led Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and Catwoman on another adventure as Gotham City Siren. On behalf of each character’s series (as is this), the previous series was a fun adventure that didn’t do too much to advance the series, and became an excuse to win cash in Gotham City Siren branding (which could possibly be extended copyright). Now, DC must have paired the trio again with return writer Leah Williams, and the sirens were back and ready for space! Well, a bit. The “trajectory” part of the title actually refers to Lunaria, Gotham’s…

Delays are an unfortunate part of the comic book industry. We all wondered if Kevin Smith was joking about never finishing the Daredevil miniseries, what took so long for the Battle Chaser to come back, or if All-Star Batman and Robin could have completely changed it and improved from the beginning (probably not). Unfortunately, you can now add echoes to Batman ’89: Echoes of Tardy Comic Runs. The final issue of Echoes, even worse than its predecessor Batman ’89, tries to bring everything in for a solid conclusion, but that feels too little, too late, only worsened by the fact…

This August, Felicia Hardy takes a break from the high stakes robbery and try something new: Superheroism. Black Cat is a Ms.S. after a defeat on the Amazing Spider-Man page by Spider-Man’s new villain Hellgate. She plunges into the spotlight with her own ongoing series written by Marvel’s G. Willow Wilson and illustrated by rising star Gleb Melnikov (Amazing Spider-Man). The series was first announced on May 6th. The show took place on June 28th and 29th at the Irish-American Heritage Centre. This year was the first place to be, and I was hoping to return next year. There are 142 exhibitors scheduled at the table, and the cakes can be freely attended and run by volunteers. The cake started in 2012 and returned in 2023 and 2024 after a three-year pandemic break. I’ve heard something good, but it was my first time.…

Through Power Rangers Prime #8 there is an important theme: conflict. Of course, there is a fundamental conflict between the Power Rangers and VR troopers, but now it’s spreading to other characters. Lauren and Orion find themselves in the Logger Heads with Rita Repulsa, who prioritizes her own agenda over the mark of salvation. Jun and Valentina are growing far from the Eltarian occupation, especially now that they are rangers. However, the biggest conflict comes between Valentina and her boyfriend Ryan. Aside from the fact that she is a ranger and he is a trooper, there is an increase in…

Jim Shooter, who died yesterday at age 73, was undeniably one of the most important figures in modern comics history. His run as Marvel editor in chief saw some of its greatest innovations – and greatest controversies. His rules for making comics were strict and sometimes arbitrary – but he also brought on people like Frank Miller and Bill Sienkiewicz and oversaw the Claremont/Byrne X-Men, Simonson’s Thor, the first superhero graphic novels (Marvel Super Special’s like The Death of Captain Marvel) and a lot more. And of course, Secret Wars. He made a lot of great comics.  Shooter was just…
