Dr. Worthless Authors: Harold Schechter and Eric PowellArtist: Eric PowellPublisher: Dark Horse Comic Dr. Fredrik Versam almost killed the American comics industry with a simple idea. Indecent and violent entertainment allows children to rely on delinquency. Superman supported truth and justice, but he did so by punishing criminals with violence. One of the best comics of the past decade was upgraded soul by Ezra Clay Tundanniels. This is a multi-level story about aging, mad science, race and family that could be one of the best sci-fi graphic novels of all time. Since its release in 2018, Daniels has worked with BenPasmore on BTTM FDRS and has taken some time to work on the Doom Patrol TV show, but he has been barely on the shelf. That changed in February next year, with the release of Mama changing Callin ‘Come Callin’, a swamp noir set in Florida about deadly family secrets.…

Of all the titles under the Ghost Machine, Hyde Street is something I still struggle with understanding how I feel. The premise of “The Twilight Zones Meets Tales From the Crypt” is well-intrigued, as is the collection of characters living on Hyde Street. However, unlike Geiger and Rook: Exodus, the story feels a bit scattered. Sister Relationship: Hyde Street Story #1 provides another pass for the upcoming series. As the title suggests, Sisterhood focuses on the mystical Fortune Terror sisterhood that first appeared in Hyde Street #5. It also tells the story of two best friends, Sophie and Violet, joined…

Comic books as medium were originally inexpensive alternatives to visual art and literature, combining the two with yellowish newsprint. They were friendly middle grounds that children and adults could find in grocery stores and corner shops. However, the year changed the industry in many ways. You might argue that the quality of the comics has never been better, but the inflation and rising paper prices were not friendly to the overall accessibility of the comics. Today, due to the persistent, painful and slow deaths of physical magazines and newspapers around the world, comics are often sold in specialty stores for…

Marvel Comics has released a new teaser image of the Age of Revelation. It was released in October, but it is unclear whether this is a crossover event across multiple X-Men titles or a whole new line-wide renewal, similar to last year’s Ashes reboot.
