Creative Corps such as Jeremy Adams, Morgan Hampton and Amankai Naerpan have returned to another installment of the Green Lantern Corps. This issue serves as a great reminder of why a second book is needed to explore the vast legions of Green Lanterns. Now, imagine them focusing on other lanterns on the emotional spectrum as well. In this issue, you will definitely bring the lantern into outer space, but these writers, together with amazing guest stars, create a script that will take you into the character’s internal space. Get the Green Lantern lineup and make sure to recharge your ring…
Batman: The dark pattern is in the third case and remains riveted. For a legacy character like Batman, seeing him early in his hard-hitting career in Batman: Dark Pattern #8 is always persuasive. Exhausted, he is trying to solve the murder of Red Hood’s gang, but Red Hood’s gang hasn’t been in a while. It’s time to make headlines, but it’s not a good way to do it. Batman: Dark Pattern #8 begins with Batman interrogating the Purp and creating a headline. These headlines Hayden Sherman renders brilliantly and sends him to the man who is writing him. The reporter…
The Superman brand is enjoying a strong renaissance in 2025. Not only is James Gunn’s Superman film round the corner, but even the Superman family of comics is bolstering the game. DC Comics doesn’t just promote Man of Steel at the Summer of Superman event, but the majority of the book tells the best stories with talented creators. It’s Sophie Campbell’s Supergirl who continues that trend, and issue #3 still exceeds expectations. Continuing the “Midveal’s Misfortune” storyline, Kara Zor Elle now knows that she motivates Lesla Lar to take away her identity and her adoptive family, Dunbar. Kara thinks Lesla…

If you’ve ever heard this, stop me: seemingly ordinary teenagers learn that they have immense power before they are driven away by a world like them, like them, to hone their new abilities and save the world. But what if this child is the cause of destruction instead of salvation? That’s the question David Marquez asks in The Unchosen #1, a series owned by his creators. This focuses on dealing with everything that is hard to master her gifts and downplays her, from those who try to kill her to her fellow sorcerers. Marquez is the definition of a “nova.”…
Without a creep show it’s not Halloween. This October, the cold weather is Creepshow Vol. 4#2, drops in time for the creepy season on October 22, 2025. Published by Skybound and Image Comics and inspired by Greg Niccotero’s hit Shudder series, The Fan-Favorite Horror Anthology is back to another terrible help of horror. This issue has attracted some killer creative talent. Rising comic writer Rachel Pinneras (I know you had your last crisis) teamed up with famous artist Gabriel Walta (Vision) for a nightmare fuel science experiment. Meanwhile, horror icon Ted Raimi joins forces with Thomas Krajewski and Ryan Kerr…
Purchased on July 9th, this week’s top comics have one of my favorite books, with new #1 and comics returning with a new miniseries. The book is under a tree that no one sees: the ritual of Spring #1, and I was really blown away by it. I’ll review it in a complete comic column tomorrow Wednesday. I’ll explain in detail why I liked it so much. But this isn’t: if you like the first series, this is definitely something you should read. Elsewhere, this week there will be a powerful new Batman and Superman comic, a huge swing from…
On all accounts, the 1997 sci-fi horror film event Horizon was a critically and commercially certified flop. Despite the lack of initial stellar receptions, over the years the film has earned greater new appreciation for cult supporters and several scenes cut from the final version that ultimately tightened the original vision of the filmmakers. Sadly, much of the footage that was cut off has been lost, which has taken fans out of seeing the fully restored version. Thankfully, IDW Publishing has become a highly satisfying fan demand with the Parish’s creative team, artist Tristan Jones and the first official prequel…
TMNT I’ll be back this week on Tuesday. There is a special edition with first thoughts and a preview of teenage mutant ninja turtles #10. Next week (July 16th), the questions will be in order, with half of which unfolding as courtroom dramas. With a pre-copy in hand, you can safely say that this is a must-read for anyone following since #1. The Ninja Turtles realize that when they fight together they become stronger, so the story becomes a complete circle. As we approach the end of the story arc, it is clear that these sibling troubles are beginning to…
