Since the opening of this new DC All-in Aquaman series, Jeremy Adams has skillfully set many questions for readers to keep in mind. When does Aquaman become “God’s Murderer” and what does that mean? Why did Dagon steal not only Atlantis, but Aquaman’s family and friends, whisper into the mysterious water realm known as Blue? What did Dagon do to Mera? I’m happy to report that I’m starting to answer these questions with this new question. DC In the final issue, we received a revelation that Than of the Wonder Twins was in a mysterious water container. Adams wastes no…
Often there won’t be a massive release later in the series, but that’s the case with Superior Avengers #4. The villain team from another era is thrown away with the Avengers, but their plans and the truth behind their persona will be fully revealed this week. It becomes a clear, satisfying turn in the story. Superior Avengers #4 opens with a flashback to Ghost’s Origins. Painted by Kyle Hotz, we soon see Annihilus becoming destroying everything, and the mother protects the child. In distractions, exchanges take place, leading to revelation of this issue. The story is then picked up from…
The Direct Continuation of Gotham by Gaslight – In the Crypton era, the first few pages of this comic attempt to quickly summarise six previous issues in a row. Unfortunately, there are many holes left to fail for those who haven’t read the former series. Even if we catch up with the previous series, the last comic, which ends last November, won’t benefit from this. So this is the first problem that feels like the climax of an unfinished story. Ignoring the strange divisions of the series into two titles, we will finally hold a Justice League-wide meeting at this…
Sometimes come manga that feel very packed with stories that make it seem like they’re not growing it beyond 12 issues. Suitable Case: Superman Treasury 2025: All #1 Heroes. Running 80 pages, which is by no means short, but the boy packs multiple heroes with many heroic moments, catching Superman against a logical threat within Canon. DC Comics is entering the finance business on this issue. So it’s an artist’s showcase, and Bruno Redondo can do it with Spades. This book knows well enough how to increase the size of pages, capture your interests and evoke a sense of grandeur.…
As I hinted in my first issue review last week, every robber, no matter how planned, will have unexpected elements. And in Gotham City Siren, worthy of Orbit #2, the trio of Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and Catwoman must compete with not one but two unplanned speed bumps on the path to robbery glory. For one, the legendary “Conduit” Catwoman is not later, but a little alien child. Second, those who own the Lunaria Nightclub, the front line of the mysterious vault that houses the conduits, are famous for Justice League Baddie Despolo, a villain far outside of the female…
Absolute Superman is ready for the revelation of Absolute Superman #9 this week. That’s because Superman was attacked with a Kryptonite bullet and an Omega man rushed him to a private location. So far, we know that Peacemaker and La’s Argul are not good, but how about this group of guerrillas calling themselves good guys? If you pick it up from where you left off, Superman gets shot and bleed. It’s a fierce opening scene and reminds me of how difficult it is to pull a Kryptonite sh shotgun out of Superman. In the screams and efforts of Omega men,…
Creative Corps such as Jeremy Adams, Morgan Hampton and Amankai Naerpan have returned to another installment of the Green Lantern Corps. This issue serves as a great reminder of why a second book is needed to explore the vast legions of Green Lanterns. Now, imagine them focusing on other lanterns on the emotional spectrum as well. In this issue, you will definitely bring the lantern into outer space, but these writers, together with amazing guest stars, create a script that will take you into the character’s internal space. Get the Green Lantern lineup and make sure to recharge your ring…
Batman: The dark pattern is in the third case and remains riveted. For a legacy character like Batman, seeing him early in his hard-hitting career in Batman: Dark Pattern #8 is always persuasive. Exhausted, he is trying to solve the murder of Red Hood’s gang, but Red Hood’s gang hasn’t been in a while. It’s time to make headlines, but it’s not a good way to do it. Batman: Dark Pattern #8 begins with Batman interrogating the Purp and creating a headline. These headlines Hayden Sherman renders brilliantly and sends him to the man who is writing him. The reporter…
The Superman brand is enjoying a strong renaissance in 2025. Not only is James Gunn’s Superman film round the corner, but even the Superman family of comics is bolstering the game. DC Comics doesn’t just promote Man of Steel at the Summer of Superman event, but the majority of the book tells the best stories with talented creators. It’s Sophie Campbell’s Supergirl who continues that trend, and issue #3 still exceeds expectations. Continuing the “Midveal’s Misfortune” storyline, Kara Zor Elle now knows that she motivates Lesla Lar to take away her identity and her adoptive family, Dunbar. Kara thinks Lesla…
