SDCC Coverage sponsored by Mad Cave On the first International Comic-Con: San Diego 2025 panel on Thursday, July 24th, Marvel Comics lit the spotlight on one of their most beloved super teams, the X-Men. Marvel Editor in Chief CB Severski and X-Tom Breboat conductors joined forces with creators, including Ryan North and David Marquez, to unveil what’s coming next in X-Universe: Age of Revelation. The age of revelation will keep Marvel’s universe in the future to ten years. Doug Ramsey, the heir to Apocalypse, reconstructed the Earth, so only mutants are the right fit to survive it. He…
2025 marked Robert Kirkman’s return to San Diego Comic-Con, and he arrived with a bang. He was able to join Kirkman’s panel, where he talked about his upcoming projects for Image Comics and Skybound. Invincible is the biggest topic of discussion, and Kirkman wasted no time revealing that Battle Beast is coming to the Invincible vs game! He also revealed that Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #1 is the fourth printing. This is an impressive record. The Invincible Animated series has also been renewed for its fifth season, with Kirkman revealing that Matthew Rice (American) will speak out about the reptile…
San Diego Comic-Con 2025 lit up with mutant energy as Marvel’s X-Men panel (Thursday, 7/24, 1:45 PM-2:45 PT) to deepen into the age of revelation, revealing the surprising slate of the second issue across the vast new X-Line. From demonic confrontations and undead threats to family betrayal and guerrilla resistance, the post-supply world is becoming more dangerous and exciting. Whether Juggernaut as the Devil Knight, Sabrietooth is on the verge of hunting his own family or marrying Storm and Gambit, each title pushes the classic characters in a bold, genre-bending direction. With heavy hitters like Jed Mackay, Gale Simone, Eve…
SDCC Coverage sponsored by Mad Cave On Wednesday evening, July 24th, Digital Marketplace Itch.io was announced as one of the last fortresses for NSFW, adults and creators creating and selling erotic content. In some cases, the product has been completely removed. All of this was done without warning thousands of sellers and consumers. Many of them were discovered on social media before founder Leaf Corcoran explained the sudden change in developer posts. Corcoran’s statement cited pressure from payment processors as a reason to remove explicit content of icch.io’s sudden pivot. Corcoran said Australian anti-porn group Collective Soute launched…
SDCC Coverage sponsored by Mad Cave Batman won a new miniseries called Night Fight from the creative team of writer Joshua Williamson and artist Dan Mora this November, which will tie into the upcoming DC KO event. The announcement came later on in the panel focusing on the aforementioned events (the first half was all about the absolute universe). In terms of what the book is, the creators say it is part of a huge tournament at the heart of DC KO, saying Batman has been replaced by many different Robins in alternative future versions, especially those in…
DC pulls out all stops on all the explosive panels on the San Diego Comic Con – 2025 panels, spotlighting the absolute universe future, and launching fans for the next chapter: DC KO (King Omega), a brutal, high-stakes multi-versal tournament, Survival, Legacy, and Darkness clashing. King Omega rises Forget “Knockout,” DC KO stands for Omega King. This was taken by a terrifying new form of Darkseid after absorbing the essence of the absolute universe’s Omega. Now he’s targeting the core DC universe, claiming everything, magic, space and time for himself. What is the only way to promote this conquest? battle.…
Paul Pope’s art show at the Philip Laverne Gallery in New York City may be depicted nearby, but his visionary influence on world building and storytelling continues to fade. The prophetic THB, first published over 30 years ago, has experienced a timely revival in light of recent political developments. Later this year, 23rd Avenue (the fourth, second adult imprint) released a compilation volume, attracting new attention for works that go against the Pope genre. In the meantime, fans can still explore his work in the gallery. There, the Pope and Philip Laverne spoke with Beat recently about the exhibition, Pullforpe…
Absolute Green Arrow comes from DC Comics in the spring of 2026. The publisher made an announcement on Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con. This book is from the creative team at Pornsak Pichetoshote, drawn by Rafael Albukerque, and shows you the designs that can be displayed below. Details of the new take were sparse, but Pitchett Short, who was on the panel, said that Oliver’s Queen is a billionaire tired of how the other billionaires are behaving. The absolute green arrow character appears first in an absolute evil one-shot of October. However, it wasn’t the only news on the panel.…
The Comic-Con Museum, faithfully to its name, features an exhibit that salt-worthy nerds must check out. When I went in 2022, the museum had a “Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing” exhibit dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Web-Slinger. This year, it featured The Boting at the Doctor Who: Worlds of Wonder exhibition. In addition to documenting the various incarnations of the doctor and his/her tools (including the Sonic Driver), Doctor Who: World of Wonder features an entire hall dedicated to the doctor’s enemy. Dalek, Cybermen, Crying Angels: All of them are on display, and rather scared by the nearby. Scattered throughout are…
SDCC Coverage sponsored by Mad Cave Today is that day. After feeling like eternity with a truly strange cross promotion, the Fantastic Four arrives at the theater. To celebrate this opportunity, we asked Marvel’s devastated team a simple question. What is your favorite Fantastic Four Story? A few rules are set, only cartoons are set, and we try to avoid obvious choices. Galactus Trilogy, This Man, This Monster, Fantastic Four #267 (Sue Storm-Richard’s Miscarriage), Fantastic Four #60 (First Waid and Wieringo Issue) solves everything. These are all groundbreaking stories for reasons, and if you haven’t read them, you…
