DC pulls out all stops on all the explosive panels on the San Diego Comic Con – 2025 panels, spotlighting the absolute universe future, and launching fans for the next chapter: DC KO (King Omega), a brutal, high-stakes multi-versal tournament, Survival, Legacy, and Darkness clashing. King Omega rises Forget “Knockout,” DC KO stands for Omega King. This was taken by a terrifying new form of Darkseid after absorbing the essence of the absolute universe’s Omega. Now he’s targeting the core DC universe, claiming everything, magic, space and time for himself. What is the only way to promote this conquest? battle.…
Paul Pope’s art show at the Philip Laverne Gallery in New York City may be depicted nearby, but his visionary influence on world building and storytelling continues to fade. The prophetic THB, first published over 30 years ago, has experienced a timely revival in light of recent political developments. Later this year, 23rd Avenue (the fourth, second adult imprint) released a compilation volume, attracting new attention for works that go against the Pope genre. In the meantime, fans can still explore his work in the gallery. There, the Pope and Philip Laverne spoke with Beat recently about the exhibition, Pullforpe…
Absolute Green Arrow comes from DC Comics in the spring of 2026. The publisher made an announcement on Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con. This book is from the creative team at Pornsak Pichetoshote, drawn by Rafael Albukerque, and shows you the designs that can be displayed below. Details of the new take were sparse, but Pitchett Short, who was on the panel, said that Oliver’s Queen is a billionaire tired of how the other billionaires are behaving. The absolute green arrow character appears first in an absolute evil one-shot of October. However, it wasn’t the only news on the panel.…
The Comic-Con Museum, faithfully to its name, features an exhibit that salt-worthy nerds must check out. When I went in 2022, the museum had a “Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing” exhibit dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Web-Slinger. This year, it featured The Boting at the Doctor Who: Worlds of Wonder exhibition. In addition to documenting the various incarnations of the doctor and his/her tools (including the Sonic Driver), Doctor Who: World of Wonder features an entire hall dedicated to the doctor’s enemy. Dalek, Cybermen, Crying Angels: All of them are on display, and rather scared by the nearby. Scattered throughout are…

A few rules are set, only cartoons are set, and we try to avoid obvious choices. Galactus Trilogy, This Man, This Monster, Fantastic Four #267 (Sue Storm-Richard’s Miscarriage), Fantastic Four #60 (First Waid and Wieringo Issue) solves everything. These are all groundbreaking stories for reasons, and if you haven’t read them, you…

This October, the Marvel Universe is forever changed. The X-Men take center stage in Age of Revelation, a sweeping new line-wide saga set “X years later” in a fractured future ruled by the heir of Apocalypse. It all kicks off with X-Men: Age of Revelation Overture #1, then splinters into a host of bold new series including Amazing X-Men, Unbreakable X-Men, Rogue Storm, and The Last Wolverine. Expect wild reinventions (Laura Kinney as Sabretooth!), high-stakes team-ups (X-Vengers?!), and terrifying new threats (Undeadpool!). But mutants aren’t the only ones making noise. Marvel and DC officially collide in the much-hyped Deadpool/Batman #1,…

Marvel Knights: The World To Come Legends Following the launch of Joe Quesada and Christopher Priest, the Marvel Knights universe is expanding this fall with a gritty new spinoff: Marvel Knights: Punisher. Released in October, the new series was written by Jimmy Palmiotti, co-creator of the original Marvel Knights Line, and depicts fan favorite artist Dampanosian. This chapter delves deep into the transformation of Frank Castle and reveals that the Punisher we knew would become far more silly in this dark new era. “The magic of Marvel Knights has always been about fearless storytelling and raw talent,” Palmiotti said. “Now…
