Few TV series have left a deeper cultural mark than the Twilight Zone. Debuting in 1959, Rodselling’s groundbreaking anthology blends science fiction, fantasy and horror to tell stories that made them think in a way that makes them feel unsettled. IDW’s The Twilight Zone #1 (outside September 24th) embraces creative choices that feel integral to its legacy. With a pre-copy in hand, I dare to review comics that aim to make readers both shadows and substances, objects and ideas. The first issue Dan Watters wrote with art for Morgan Beam is entitled “Blank.” It aims to lead the same unforgettable…

Welcome to another creepy edition of X-Men on Monday at X-Fans, AIPT! And now for something a little different! After being allowed to press pass to Fan Expo Boston 2025, I began to think about what to do with this column. Can you go up and down the artist’s alleys and talk to the tables of all the creators who touched the X-Men? Certainly – but I did that too. Not only at Fan Expo Boston, but also at Trerificon and New York Comic Con! Are there any creators left to talk about? ! ? And what if I just…
Authors Union Syndicat des Travailleur.euses Artist-Auteurs (Working Artists and Authors, STAA) vows to promote the boycott of the 2026 Angoulême Festival. This is happening despite recent moves by the Festival Owners Association FIBD to begin the bidding process for the alternate event hosting and news, in which unpopular representative Frank Bondau will retire after the 2027 event. In April, the STAA won French headlines with 2,000 strong petitions with Metobud against the association, triggering a surprise closing door declaration that the nonprofit would form a joint venture with Bondoux’s 9e Art+. The petition requested a termination of the agreement with…
Elle of El stands on the brink of the finest trial in the adventures of Superman of Elle. There were only two days left for the retailer to order the series (August 11th) and when I arrived on September 3rd, I spoke with Johnson of Fan Expo Boston to delve deep into the Hot New series. Maxiseries reunites future states: Superman: House of El Creators Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Scott Godlewski follow directly in Johnson’s action comic run, building towards a future that has been glimpsed in future states. In the series, the superfamily peace is shattered when an enemy…

An hour after Fan Expo Boston 2025 opened the door to the public, voice actor Cal Dodd from X-Men: The Animated Series and X-Men ’97 took to the stage for “Wolverine Unleashed: X-Men ’97’s Cal Dodd.” Early on the panel, the X-Men icon reminded the audience of one of the most famous lines in the 90s cartoon Wolverine. “I’ll go where I want to go,” it was clear that Logan was rubbed a bit with the Dodd as the actor continues to say what he wants to say. This is a summary of some of the panel’s most interesting moments,…

At Fanexpo Boston yesterday, Eisner Award-winning artist Hayden Sharman shines the spotlight for a career-spanning conversation with IDW editor Heather Anthos, deepening his love for design in DC’s ambitious absolute universe, Sharman’s acclaimed absolute universe and brand continuity. Antos drove things away by paying attention to the success of the absolute line’s runaway. DC’s new continuity is such a hit that all the issues so far have returned to seven times and even eight times pressing. A rare item in modern comics. Sherman admits that they were not fully aware of the scale of their success, but believes in absolute…
