At the “Next Big Thing” panel held at New York Comic Con on Thursday, Marvel announced a new series in its ongoing weekly Astonishing Infinity comic series on the Marvel Unlimited app. Starting today, everyone can read Astonishing Spider-Man #1-2, written by Scott Aukerman and illustrated by Salva Espin. There are at least two series coming out in the future.
“Whether you’re a regular Spidey reader or you’ve never read a single comic featuring the wall-crawler, there’s something for you in The Astonishing Spider-Man. That’s it!” Aukerman said.
“I wanted to start this book by putting Peter in a terrible situation with no easy solution, but let’s just say the situation gets worse as it goes on. It makes Peter Parker wonder why he did what he did. “It’s something that makes me seriously consider whether I’m going to do what I’m doing and whether I should continue doing it,” he continued.
Astonishing Spider-Man #1 and #2 are available for free for a limited time as part of Marvel’s Infinity Comics: The Start Scrolls program. The program was launched earlier this year to give fans instant access to select titles without having to subscribe to Marvel Unlimited. You can also subscribe or log in.
Starting in December, the Astonishing Infinity comics series will also include Astonishing X-Men, written by Alex Paknadel and Tim Seeley and illustrated by Philip Sebby and Philip Sebby. The Astonishing Avengers, written by Steve Orlando and drawn by Francesco Arcidiacono, will then join the party in January 2025.
