MacRumors noticed an unusual feature in the second developer beta of iOS 18.2, indicating that Apple may allow users to upgrade to a paid ChatGPT plan as part of Apple Intelligence. Ta. Siri doesn’t need to use ChatGPT for all tasks, but some users enjoy using the integration for things like power tasks.

In the image above, you can see that under “Advanced Features” there is a “Daily Limit” section and it says “Below Limit.” This means users can only use the latest advanced ChatGPT features a few times a day. This is because ChatGPT-4o’s free access using the platform is limited and resets every 24 hours. When you exhaust your daily limit, Siri switches to the free version of ChatGPT, which has fewer advanced tools. For example, DALL-E 3 image creation is limited to two per day.
Once you tap the “Upgrade to ChatGPT Plus” button, you will be redirected to the subscription purchase screen within the app. ChatGPT Plus costs $20 per month. So it looks like you’ll have to pay for unlimited premium ChatGPT access, although Apple itself hasn’t implemented a subscription model.
Today we also covered upgrades to Apple’s Find My feature. Like this new ChatGPT integration, this is part of the iOS 18.2 developer beta. Both will eventually be released in the final version of iOS 18.2, which is rumored to arrive in early December.
