AMP® Comics will be participating in Massive Indies’ distribution partnership with Lunar Distribution to offer the free debut issue of “Neverwars”
(Los Angeles, March 19, 2025) – Massive Publishing, one of Independent Comics’ biggest emerging brands, has announced a distribution agreement with AMP® Comics as part of its new Massive Indies program. The program, announced last month, is designed to consolidate and promote large sectors of the independent comics market under a single distribution account available for orders via monthly distribution. AMP® Comics will make its massive indie/Lunar debut with Neverwars #1 in June.
AMP® represents a group of veterinarians in the entertainment industry, including Don Handfield, the first book, “The Rift fits Steven Spielberg’s TV-fitting veteran comic creators (Dark Age, The Source, Unikorn) for the reboot of Apple+’s fantastic storylines.” Handfield will be joined by Joshua Sturnes, the founding partner of the Red 5 comics (Dark Age, Afterburn, Machine Girl), who will serve as president. Meanwhile, David Byrne, creator of indie hit stakes and former co-publisher of scout comics, will oversee release and development strategies as a publisher. Joshua Malkin will serve as editor-in-chief, and Ishan Kamals will serve as creative executive. The AMP® Comics All-Star team will take part in a massive contract with direct market Lunar Distribution through this exciting new initiative.
“The whole amp team is excited to join Massive and Lunar to bring a massive storytelling style to readers, so we’re pumping up that the first new title is Neverwars. We’re rebuilding what’s lost. – Don Handfield, CEO, AMP®
“We couldn’t be excited to launch AMP® Comics or partner with the best independent comics in the industry to publish titles.
AMP® Comics, a publisher of a new creator-centered independent committee, will make its store debut today with the release of Prodigal Son, co-written by Handigal Son and Cobra Kai Star Martin Kove. Meanwhile, the publisher is set to launch a massive indie program at comic book shops across the country in April. AMP brings together both publishing and entertainment veterans and shares the vision of a sustainable, creator-driven publishing model. Publishers focus on quality rather than quantity and effective marketing, and AMP is dedicated to bringing benefits to both creators and readers alike.
With an unprecedented show of support for the new series, Amp Comics offers Neverwars #1: Dorothy Gale – Land of Oz through its partnership with Thunder Comics.
The magical realms of Wonderland, Oz and Neverland are plunging into a devastating war that spans the world and generations. Jabberwock’s twisted magic turns into good and evil, turning his beloved childhood into a shadow of his original self. In Neverwar, the heroes we grew up with must tackle the fear of conflict, the loss of innocence, and the battle to protect hope.
Told through three uniquely illustrated and completely clear initial questions, Neverwars invites readers to experience this epic story from multiple perspectives. Readers can choose to enter Neverworld through one of the three characters. Dorothy Gale is now a World War I nurse at the forefront of World War I. A stuffed rabbit leads him into wonderland and discovers his grandmother Alice, Georgie Bird, a young British recruit, is transformed into a red queen by the evil magic of Jabberwok. Alternatively, readers can soar alongside Petrupunne, the German spotter from Red Baron’s Flying Circus in the Crash Falling Area in Neverland.
Neverwars #1: Dorothy – Oz’s Land of Oz will be offered in the monthly distribution catalogue through a massive indie solicitation in June, and can be pre-ordered in the monthly catalogue, which is expected to be released from April to June 25th at the local comic book shop. We encourage retailers and readers to focus on the large indie section of all future AMP comic publications.
Massive Indies is a subdistribution initiative sponsored by Massive Publishing to help independent publishers and studios put books into comic shops during an unprecedented time of Comic Distribution Pipeline’s uncertainty. In addition to amplifying existing publishers under a unified banner, the program also serves as an open platform for submitting titles for inclusion in large Indian solicitations within the monthly catalogue. Unlike traditional imprint models, this subdistribution approach allows each publisher or studio to maintain its autonomy and control its publishing line. So far, the response has been overwhelming, with many quality publishers and studios applying to be part of the first wave of partners.
