Qi2 Wireless charging specifications were originally announced in early 2023. However, since then, Android smartphone makers have not been in a hurry to add Qi2 support to the latest devices. As a result, it is quite difficult to find a compatible mobile phone, and it is unfortunate for those who have seen abundant accessories and mobile batteries that the iPhone owner have accessed for several generations.
Qi2 is required to incorporate embedded magnets designed so that the position of peripheral devices and installation are easy in addition to the higher -speed charging speed (up to 15 watts in later revisions).
However, the slowness of the development is even more frustrated by Apple, which is a member of the wireless power consortium (the general organization in charge of Qi2), and the Magsafe technology supports the definition of the specifications, and the compliant add -on operates seamlessly. It is used to guarantee that. Because it is equipped with Qi2, compatible peripheral devices are not deficient.
In any case, we have summarized the list of supported devices so that you can see which Android smartphone is officially installed. (Note: Due to the complexity of the Chinese market, this list mainly focuses on gadgets available in North America and the EU.)
Android smartphone equipped with Qi2:
HMD Skyline.
That’s it, seriously. At least for now.
But what about Galaxy S25? Unfortunately, Samsung states that it will release multiple “Android devices that support Qi2” this year, but the latest batch of the company’s main mobile phone is simply “Qi2 compatible”. But what does that mean? Like the previous model, the Galaxy S25 family can charge up to 15 watts. However, since the phone does not have a built -in magnet, it will slip down if you try to attach a Qi2 accessory. This problem can be solved by purchasing a compatible case with a built -in magnetic mounting system, but at least in the case of the GALAXY S25 series, it is additional to support the Qi2 peripheral equipment market. Support is required.
OnePlus also claims that ONEPLUS 13 supports Qi2. However, in our tests, the magnet inside the mobile phone was so weak that any Qi2 accessories were not firmly fixed.
Google also seems to have pledged to do his best. Nevertheless, the company states that “Google will play a leading role in the next Qi V2.2 standard development, including contribution to the WPC of its own high -power wireless charging technology”, and the situation is a little concrete. Not.
Finally, when asked if there was a plan to launch a Qi2 compatible mobile phone, Motorola only answered, “We are working on introducing the latest technology on our devices.”
Nevertheless, Mobile World Congress 2025 begins on March 3, so many major manufacturers are expected to update.
As a new mobile phone equipped with Qi2 is launched into the market, we will try to keep this list in the latest as possible. At least until the specifications become more mainstream standard.
