Mafia Nanny vol. Collect the first 12 entries in one hit Webtoon series. Created with Rousuuu colors and Drawniels backgrounds created by Sh00 and Violet Matter, this book is available from Webtoon Unscrod. Fast-paced action comedy is easy to pick up and enter… you might be surprised at how quickly the pages are gone.

Mafia Nanny vol. 1

When Davina is a young child, her family is murdered by an invisible rival. Raised by her nanny Bremerton, Dabina enrolls in the Elite Nanny Academy (ENA) to become a parent. Enter Gabriel Angelini, the Angelini Mafia family. Gabriel’s child, Mikey, cannot be kept quiet as his father collects protective money and does the round.

Angelini approaches ENA and specifically seeks Davina’s services. In fact, he insists on Dabina, even when Bremerton (now the academy principal) is trying to recommend someone else in her place. Nonetheless, Dabina is being served for Angelinis. This is partly due to the fact that she has an impure motive to identify more information about her parents’ deaths.

But did Dabina bit more than she could? Mikey is an adorable little moppet in a cute tailored suit, but he is surprisingly serious about family business. Certain child-like traits appear from time to time, but he can equally come across as the little mafia boss he trains with. With all your heart towards the mechanical and kick-resistant chocolate milk habits, Mikey is more intimidating than your average babysitting sin.

Meanwhile, Dabina learns that there may be more than just turning her eyes to Gabriel. It’s not that Gabriel is not easy to see. However, it is common knowledge that even when the underboss of the Mafia are fun to watch, he is dangerous to trust. And it goes without saying that it is the mystery surrounding Gabriel’s late wife and the brothers of Mafia Don…

As far as art is concerned, it focuses primarily on the characters and their representation. The scene where Davina activates “Nannymode.” It’s especially fun. Imagine that Terminator has a “nanny” setting. That way you will get the right idea. It’s easy to root Dabina, who has a sympathetic backstory and clear motivation. And who doesn’t want to see an adorable child like Mikey achieve some happiness (even if he’s a guy already made a bit)?

Finally, the adaptation from Scrolling Webtoon comics to physical releases is well done. The action is easy to follow, despite the story being originally released in a very different format.
