The Alien book enters a new phase of growth and creativity, revealing a stacked lineup of new releases planned for 2026. Among the highlights are the science fiction fantasy manga Badax and the prestige anthology Xo Manowar: Black, White & Gold by Toryumon Takeda.
“It was a huge year,” says director and editor-in-chief Matthias Timart. “We partnered with IDW and worked with Zorro Productions to continue the next era of Valiant. We continued our Momentum’s Only Picking Up and launched the successful Kickstarters.”
Arrived in the fall of 2026, the Bad Ducks follows Man Grey, who has been converted to a woman, cash briefcase and running man with a baby. The comic, which spans four volumes, is distributed through Penguin Random House through a partnership with the alien IDW. “The work of Toryumon Takeda is electricity,” says Timarchi. “We’re excited to bring that to a larger audience.”
On the superhero side, Xo Manowar: Black, White & Gold continues to succeed in the development of black, white and blood with an all-new Kickstarter Hardcover Anthology featuring stories throughout the Xo era. The creators range from brave legends to new voices including Cintaro Casgo, Mark Guggenheim, Alex Segura, Dan Abnett and Peter Milligan. Backers can also get exclusive items like the Xo Manowar #1 fax and the artist version of Xo Manowar #0.
The publisher’s updated logo debuted in August beyond New Valiant, besides titles such as Bloodshot and Tales of the Shadowman, taking clues from the aesthetics of the ’80s and ’90s. “It’s not just nostalgia,” says Timarki. “It reminds me of a time when physical media meant something and stood out.”
Looking ahead, fans can expect more crowdfunding campaigns and an unreleased crossover project featuring brave icons fighting characters from the legendary fighting game franchise. “I can’t say anything more without getting into trouble,” teased Timart.
To taste the next thing early, fans joining SDCC can grab a free Valiant beyond the preview edition and beyond Ashcan at IDW’s booth #2729. Additionally, future issues will be pre-ordered via IDW Publishing Monthly Catalog and PRH Comics.
