Ask dozens of comic experts to their favorite creators and most, if not all of that dozen, are going to list Alan Moore among their favorites. Creator creator Moore is often believed to be one of the best things to write in media, and now some of his earliest works have been collected for the first time.
Moore’s 2000 ad stories are collected by the publisher on a new hardcover omnibus. This is a series that presents almost all of the author’s works published in iconic British magazines. It also includes the story of the “lost” Moore, which has not been printed for nearly 50 years. The writer first began freelance for a magazine in the early 80s, and ultimately wrote over 50 shorts in the shock of the future alone.
“Now, 2000 ads are proud to be able to launch a collection of all Alan Moore stories in the form of a full ad by Alan Moore in 2000. Volume 1 allows readers to enjoy learning short form stories while bringing his future shocks and one-off stories into one full volume,” a press release from the publisher reveals. “Whip smart and funny, this first volume also serves as a perfect guide to how to write comics to page limits. It also includes “Holiday in Hell,” a story that has never been reprinted in English since its first publication in 1980! ”
The 2000 ad was published by Alan Moore Vol. 1. You will collect more than 250 pages of stories written by Moore. The titles featured in the First Volume include stories featuring characters like the ABC Warriors, Robuster, and Rogue Troopers, as well as all of Moore’s time on future shocks and Time Twisters. A powerful one-off Targ and a robot story about Rojos.
The first volume of this new set of collection is not scheduled to be released until April 2026, but is currently available for pre-order on the 2000 advertising website. Available in both hardcover and softcover formats for $66.99 and $53.99, respectively.
