Ahoy Comics is partnering with Universal Distribution, adding an ongoing relationship between Simon & Schuster and Lunar Distribution. Universal will distribute a single issue with Ahoy across Canada, with the trade paperback version going gradual in stages over the coming months.
September books are currently available for order. Canadian retailers now have access to previously unavailable August titles. US comic book retailers can get a full catalog of Ahoy through the distribution of the month, while North American bookstores can access new backlist trade paperbacks through Simon & Schuster.
“It’s been a tsunami for the distribution network recently,” said Hart Seely, a publisher of Ahoy. “We have worked hard to ensure that all retailers can order Ahoy books and are pleased to have resolved the arrangement that makes it possible.”
“Is it like beauty to work universally?” added Ulysses P. Canic, OPS manager and Ahoy Chief Mount Officer in Canada. “I tilt the talk to the right and towards the hardworking Hoser heroes. They help residents in getting Ahoy cartoons from far away in the countryside.”
Ahoy is also saying goodbye to Diamond’s comic distributor. Books that start in August, especially those shipped on the 13th, will no longer be available through diamonds. This follows months of controversy surrounding diamonds that sent most of the industry into something like tail spin.
