Wonder Woman is on a mission to save people, but if they can’t communicate, how do they save them? Diana has entered a sovereign state that she has not been told, so that’s a big question that lies with Wonder Woman #24, but they can only speak a few simple words. These words include “Mouse Man Knowledge” and “Mouse has ears,” and in this week’s issue, somehow Diana begins to understand their intentions.
To say things start to open up in Wonder Woman #24 is an understatement. I was a bit frustrated because a lot of that was the repetition line above, but in this issue, Diana not only translates some of the things people say, but also gets the real language from some of the top brasses in this strange country. It is still not seen whether the highest levels of fascist nations are allowed to speak more words, perhaps because Diana’s appearance opens them. More importantly, it appears that there is more substance to this issue and more plot progression.
Wonder Woman #24 starts where we left off as Diana is about to talk to a young girl who is so afraid of her. We soon see that this highly monitored condition has been taken up by the presence of Wonder Woman and a high warning has been issued. This brings the clock to Diana. Diana doesn’t realize she’s not there, so more conflict is ongoing.
As a mom, please be more Diana!

Artist Daniel Sanpele can portray more of this issue, from Wonder Woman fighting the giant mouse to the many idiots who want to silence her. Sanpele does an incredible job on mouse scale in short battle scenes, with moments of evil power from Wonder Woman. Thanks to the Higher Brass plot, Sanpele shows us a little more of the world, like a giant mouse wheel that appears to be moving things for a fascist nation. Plus, Wonder Woman’s tiara action, kicks and bullet blocks.
The villains keep saying “the mouse guy knows” and “the mouse has ears,” but there’s more chatter and helps to give context to the situation. My reading is that this is all the phors for the fascist nation to be unable to speak the truth to power or at all. It’s a compelling idea, but in a single problem form I certainly lost the last one. It reads much better collected reads. The cliffhanger certainly promises more plot progression. This is a relief.
After the frustrating and stagnant chapter, it offers meaningful plot progression that suggests even greater revelation, deepening course corrections, actions, philosopher and Diana’s mission.
“Wonder Woman” #24 provides action and ratio phor
Wonder Woman #24
After the frustrating and stagnant chapter, it offers meaningful plot progression that suggests even greater revelation, deepening course corrections, actions, philosopher and Diana’s mission.
Compared to the previous issue, stronger pacing and plot progression
An interesting aspect of censorship and truth under the fascist regime
Daniel Sanpele’s art shines on dynamic action scenes and impressive scales (Giant Mouse, Tiara Action, etc.)
Metaphor reveals that it works better in trade than monthly installments
The repetitive dialogue of the last issue is still there and may irritate readers of a single issue
