Marvel will renew the “AMAZING SPIDER-MAN” title again in April this year

It seems like just yesterday that Marvel was rebooting its signature film, The Amazing Spider-Man, with screenwriter Zev Wells. It hasn’t been without controversy, to say the least. It’s no surprise that two years later, the publisher is relaunching the Amazing Spider-Man title with a new creative team that readers will be familiar with.

Announced exclusively by Polygon today, the next era of the popular series will be co-starred by noted Amazing Spider-Man and Deadpool screenwriter Joe Kelly and legendary Amazing Spider-Man artist John Romita Jr. , and brought to you by one of the industry’s most acclaimed contemporary artists. Artist Pepe Larraz is fresh off his exemplary work on Blood Hunt and X-Men. The new Amazing Spider-Man delivers classic Spider-Man storytelling with bold new horizons for Spider-Man. his supporting cast (including the recently redeemed Norman Osborn and Peter’s new girlfriend Shay), and some of the greatest supervillains in all of pop culture.

Kelly, of course, is familiar with Spidey’s involvement with Welles during the Brand New Day era. In fact, he’s currently involved in the “8 Deaths of Spider-Man” arc that concludes the current volume of the title.

The publisher describes the reboot as follows:

Peter is unemployed and looking for a lucrative job, but his search is interrupted by a rampaging Rhino, who is just the tip of the evil iceberg. What is the main Spider-Villain working behind the scenes to weaponize other Spider-Villains, including a Spider-Villain we haven’t seen in over 7 years?! Also, what is Norman Osborn without the Goblin up to these days? Are you doing it?

Kelly explained to Polygon:

“Even though this is a new number one, I don’t consider it a ‘restart’ per se. I am writing the next chapter in the story of one of the world’s greatest men who was fortunate enough to follow in the footsteps of those who came before me. Once you figure that out, it’s time to figure out what you love about Spider-Man and its cast, what stories have resonated with you at different times in your life, and how to integrate it all and what it fits into. I spend a lot of time thinking about how I can make it work. We’ve appeared before, but we’re breaking new ground… You feel the urge to take bold, unexpected swings to see how Spider-Man deals with Marvel-sized curveballs. Pressure creates diamonds. ”

Larraz added:

“The most important part of Spider-Man that I wanted to accurately portray is Peter. Of course, I can also talk about depicting the real New York. I took hundreds of photos of the city’s details for reference. The flow of Spidey’s movements and speed is more similar to animation than in the comics. But I think the reason Spider-Man comics work is because we care about Peter and his world. That was my main focus: to portray a Peter that is instantly recognizable and relatable.”

Editor Nick Lowe said:

“I never thought we’d be able to cast Joe in a substantive role in “The Amazing Spider-Man.” Spider-Man: “He’s always busy with anime, TV, and movies, so he usually just dips in and out of comics. That’s why. We hired him for The 8 Deaths of Spider-Man, and he was doing such a great job that when I asked if he would be considered as a continuing writer, I hit the lottery. I felt like Pepe Larraz. Adding his exceptional supersonic talent to the equation immediately proved to have the makings of a classic. Then John Romita Jr. agreed to stay… fireworks went off. You better go!”

We are looking for the following information.
